Ron Ozer is a finance and investment professional based in New York. From August 2008 to July 2014, he worked at global investment and technology development firm D.E. Shaw & Co. and focused on trading natural gas. From July 2015 to April 2017, he was the head US Natural Gas Portfolio Manager for American global financial institution Citadel.

 

Ron Ozer’s career success was built on a strong academic foundation. The New York native was the valedictorian of his class in Tenafly High School located in Bergen County, New Jersey. He then enrolled at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he majored in Mathematics and minored in Economics. While studying at the prestigious university, he worked on various entrepreneurial ventures including filing a provisional patent for an e-cigarette type design in 2006. This was nearly a decade before e-cigarettes became mainstream.

 

During his sophomore year, he had internships at world-renowned companies Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers. On top of his coursework and extracurricular activities, Ron Ozer worked as a research associate at MIT’s Sloan Business School. These experiences built up his resume and prepared him for his career after university. In 2008, Ron Ozer graduated from the MIT after completing his studies in three years. He was a Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society Member.

 

Outside of work, Ron Ozer pursues other hobbies such as playing the guitar, playing poker, and snowboarding. A seasoned traveler, he considers Israel as his favorite destination. As a true New Yorker, he lists Jay-Z as his favorite musician and the New York Giants as his favorite team.
